Dr. Gerner earned her Fellowship in Pediatrics through the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association (ICPA) in 2004 and specializes in pre/post-natal maternity care and pediatrics; including advanced cranial adjusting techniques. This special work is incredibly effective to improve and support such issues as breastfeeding challenges, lip and/or tongue tie, ear infections, colic, sleepnessness, neuro-processing challenges, etc… She works closely with many Lactation Consultants to offer complete care for breastfeeding mothers and babies.
Dr. Gerner is certified in the Webster Technique. This technique is a specific Chiropractic analysis and adjustment which decreases the structural and ligamental restrictions of the pelvis; effectively giving the baby more room to move as he/she does naturally. Sacral and pelvic subluxation often contributes to difficult labor (dystocia) for mom. Releasing pelvic subluxation restores neuro-biomechanical function, and allows for increased space for the baby, a more comfortable labor for mom, and much safer birth for the baby.
Dr. Gerner relocated from Santa Cruz in January of 2009 and has settled in the Davis community with her husband, David, and their 3 children. She is very actively involved with the local birth community, collaborating with midwives and doulas to provide supportive pre and post-partum care. She continues to be a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) an is also actively involved in the Capitol City Doulas as an affiliate. At any given day in practice, many pregnant moms and wide-grinned children are welcomed through our doors.
Dr. Gerner is the founder of The Good Life Learning, LLC and teaches post-graduate education courses on Advanced Cranial work for breastfeeding infants and Chiropractic Prenatal care. She is a current Post-Graduate faculty member of Life Chiropractic College West and an instructor with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

We love our office pups! Our patients are usually greeted by a furry friend and often purposely make time to stay and get some extra canine therapy. Both of them have been specifically trained to love all people and be gentle with children. Please let us know if you are not able to participate in the fun. We can put them down for a nap during your visit if necessary.
We lovingly remember Gus, our amazing office dog for over 10 years. He brought countless joy to literally thousands of patients and children. You are deeply missed, buddy.
